I would take the red pill to learn every language in the world. I’d still learn how to play instruments. By learning from instructors that speak in their native tongue, I’ve got the best of both worlds! What would you do?

May 3, 2014 started rudely.

My bladder woke me, demanding a release of filtered toxins. A throbbing headache accompanied the urgent wake up call. It only took four ibuprofen to relieve the grinding gears. The muscles in my thighs and calves ached bitterly from overuse during the past week’s morning walk-n-jogs.

After feeling this marriage of acute discomforts, I decided to soak in a bath of lavender-scented Epsom salts and eucalyptus-spearmint bubble bath. I covered my face, bloated from a slumber riddled with fevered lullabies, in a toxin extracting mud/clay mask.

Inch by inch, the aches and pains in my body melted into the bath and toxins fled from my muscles at the behest of lavender Epsom salts.

Relief! I soaked for several minutes in the soothing water and wiped the painful slumber off my skin. I felt better. Lavender is the miracle plant that saved my life this morning. I highly recommend using lavender to relax your body, mind, and soul.

Who are you today?

Write your own affirmations. Celebrate your life, family, and friends. Take a step outside, breathe in the air, and enjoy your day. That is what I did today and by doing so, I realized the following: I am a proud creative, who’s getting things done while making positive progress within my world community!

This not only made me feel good all over but changed the perspective of who I am. I know who I am today because I am taking positive steps toward discovering the latest version of myself, e.g. Gerilyn Version 3.0!

Your challenge today and from this day forward is to dispel negative energy from your life, add more positive experiences to your life, and fully embrace who you are. Tell me how you’re doing by sending an email to GerilynWrites4Austin@gmail.com!

The Art of Allowing: How to Deflect Negative Energy with Kindness

As many of you know from reading my blog posts, I am a believer in learning something new everyday. With the act of learning, it is important to remember to apply the act of allowing these new learning experiences to come to you with an open mind and heart.

After visiting with my vocal coach (yes, I’m learning how to sing and breath correctly because it’s super fun), she imparted a tidbit of invaluable wisdom. She told me to practice the art of allowance. Ever since that moment, I have had a clearer understanding of not only how to deflect negative energy from my everyday life but how to allow positive energy and thoughts to rush into my everyday tasks and interactions with others.

Just because we have a wish to learn new things doesn’t mean we actually do. Most of the time, I’ve struggled to learn new things even though I’ve desperately wanted to and that is because I didn’t allow myself to use kindness and self-acceptance while intercepting new information.

So now, it is with a glad heart that I am able to share this quote with you and hopefully you will allow yourself to let positivity enter into your life.

Many blessings,

Gerilyn
