You think that the goal is to be over there, and we say the goal is the journey over there; the goal is the fun you have along the way on your way to over there. -Abraham
If your desire is strong enough, it doesn’t matter what your beliefs are. If you have a desire that is strong enough, that desire will be the dominant vibration, and it will over-ride any other vibration that you have.
In recent years, I have theorized that all things are possible through the power of intention. This idea motivates me to write everyday, treat others with respect and create new, memorable experiences. The following quote was sent to my inbox this morning and further solidified my theory of intention:
“If your desire is strong enough, it doesn’t matter what your beliefs are. If you have a desire that is strong enough, that desire will be the dominant vibration, and it will over-ride any other vibration that you have.” –Abraham
How have you used the theory of intention to get things done and drive your self-motivation quotient upward and onward?
Who are you today?
Write your own affirmations. Celebrate your life, family, and friends. Take a step outside, breathe in the air, and enjoy your day. That is what I did today and by doing so, I realized the following: I am a proud creative, who’s getting things done while making positive progress within my world community!
This not only made me feel good all over but changed the perspective of who I am. I know who I am today because I am taking positive steps toward discovering the latest version of myself, e.g. Gerilyn Version 3.0!
Your challenge today and from this day forward is to dispel negative energy from your life, add more positive experiences to your life, and fully embrace who you are. Tell me how you’re doing by sending an email to GerilynWrites4Austin@gmail.com!

The simplest step to becoming motivated when you wake up, no matter what time you wake up, is to think one positive thought.
This morning, I woke up and thought:
“Oh God. Not again!”
This thought sunk my motivation to get out of bed. Snooze was pressed on my phone alarm and I fell back asleep.
Thirty minutes later, the alarm roused me again. This time I woke up and thought:
“Alright, world. You want a piece of me? Let’s go! Let’s do this!”
Energized, I sat up in bed and decided to make the best of the next hour. All it took to get me up and at ’em was one positive thought!
Now, I’m up and at work and writing to you about motivation.
Personal Motivation takes a conscious effort. Once the habit is formed, to think positively and get yourself started for the work day, you’ll have a program that promotes happiness and productivity.

“We think we have to be successful, then we’ll be happier. But the real problem is our brains work in the opposite order,” said Shawn Achor in his charming, immensely popular TED Talk from TEDxBloomington, “The happy secret to better work.” Achor is the CEO of consulting firm Good Think, which conducts research on positive psychology and helps people apply it to be happier and more effective at work. His 2011 talk drew on the research from his bestselling book on positive psychology, The Happiness Advantage, and since then he’s had a new question on his mind: Why are some people able to make positive changes in their lives, while others remain stuck in their ways? His latest book, Before Happiness, published last week by Random House, addresses just this question. In it Achor describes the five essential elements that are needed to develop a positive mindset for…

This week I would like to share a thought with you that I will be using as my motto: Keep Up The Good Work, No Matter What! Although I do not have a particularly difficult week ahead of me, life does find a way to throw curve balls.
To stay focused in times of negativity, stress, and mental exertion I am planning on doing good work no matter what obstacles may arise. I encourage you to do the same this week, and for the rest of the month… let’s take it a step further and plan on doing the very best work that we can for the rest of the year!
Stay committed to yourself and your goals, and you will find that when obstacles arise you will meet the challenges they present. I congratulate you in advance, my friends. Keep up the great work!
It’s True: Change is Good!
This inspired idea is from TED Talks guest speaker Matt Cutts.
Many of us empathetic types are focused on deflecting negative energy, purpose-driven living, and inspiring ourselves enough to inspire other people. In order to do these things effectively, you must increase your desire to learn and do new things – those things you’ve always wanted to do but never have!
I invite you to join me on a 30 Day Journey of trying new things everyday by challenging yourself to exceed your own expectations every single day, starting today. Not only will you help yourself, you will help others by just being YOU!
Learn how Matt Cutts, a regular guy with a regular job, became a Kilimanjaro climbing dynamo because of the 30 Day Challenge he created.
As you’re reading this post I will be in Colorado, doing something I’ve never done before: camping in the woods, outside of my home state. I’ve always wanted to camp underneath the towering trees of the great outdoors in Colorado. Now, it’s happening! An awe-inspiring event shared in the company of my friends and loved ones, that was once a distant dream, is now an experience that I will treasure for the rest of my life… all because I dared to do something new.
Don’t Just Sit There: Get Started!
Please join me on this amazing journey, a challenge like none other, that will help us grow into bigger better and more well-rounded versions of our already amazing selves! When you’re done doing that new thing you do, tell me about it @GerilynWrites or my Facebook page. I’d love to hear about your new experiences and lessons learned.
